Time for another chapter in my MUA reviews, this time onto their lipsticks. First off, can I just say how incredibly inexpensive these lipsticks are - retailing for £1.00 which is approximately $1.50AUD - SO CHEAPPP! I've also read somewhere, I can't remember exactly where, but a few of these shades were compared to some of the MAC lippies. I could be horribly wrong, but I do remember reading about it on someone's blog..
As you can tell from the photos, the packaging of these lipsticks are very sophisticated, chic and convenient as the shade of the lipstick can be seen at the bottom. However, I do find that it does feel a little 'cheap' or flimsy (especially the lid) but for £1.00 it definitely looks and feels good quality. I noticed one downfall of these lipsticks when swatching them though, which is that the name/number of each shade is labelled onto the lids of the lipsticks. So if you're not careful or paying close attention on which lid is for each lipstick, you can mix up the shade numbers, which can be a little disastrous when you're trying to swatch/review them!
There are a total of 16 different shades available in the MUA lipstick collection that varies from nudes, pinks and reds. As all of you know I'm a massive fan of pinks, so naturally I picked up most of their pink shades - I did notice on their website, that two of the colours I have aren't available (7&16), but hopefully they will be restocking soon! Although MUA's collection of lipsticks are not as large as other drugstore brands, there is a lovely selection - like I said previously variation of shades along with different finishes, mattes, satin, shimmer.

I also read in a couple of review posts that the clear bottom compartment of the lipsticks can be removed, providing users with a little extra product! Good luck to taking it off though, some of them are easily detachable while others are quite stubborn and don't like to detach from the lipstick. I'm also too scared to use excess amount of force to take the bottoms off, because I don't want to ruin the lipstick, haha. But that's a nice little fun fact about the MUA lipsticks that you might not have known!
Time for the important stuff - formulation. When both swatching and applying onto the lips, MUA lipsticks easily glide on and give you a beautifully smooth finish look. I feel as though these lipsticks don't dry out your lips either - I almost always need to use lip balm underneath any lipstick otherwise my lips will end up looking creased and flakey, but with these I could definitely get away with no lip balm. This may be due to the staying power of these lipsticks though. When testing out how long these would last on my lips, I noticed that the colour had completely vanished after an hour or so. Granted I was sipping on coffee during that hour, but the colour had transferred onto the cup! This doesn't exactly bother me though as, like I said, it is quite nourishing so touching up this lipstick isn't tedious.

Overall, I think the MUA lipsticks are fantastic for those who are looking for an inexpensive, everyday wearable lipstick. For £1.00 these are phenomenal - obviously the quality will not be as good as higher end lipsticks (Chanel, Dior, MAC) but these are definitely better than other affordable lipsticks I've tried! Please let me know if you've given any of the MUA lipsticks a try and what you think of them! Do you have a favourite shade? Mines 6! :)
Until next time, xo.
